Santa Claus Parade

Kick off the festivities with a touch of whimsy! What better way to get in the holiday spirit than by attending the Santa Claus parade? This annual parade is popular for its elaborate display of holiday cheer, including floats, elves, and even Santa himself! Mark Sunday, November 17 on your calendars to enjoy the festivities! The parade begins at 12:30 PM at Parliament & Bloor and ends at St. Lawrence Market. PS. People literally throw free candy canes into the crowd, so if flying candy is your thing, this is a can’t miss!

Winter Festivals

Who doesn’t love a festive festival? A few to check out are the Toronto Light Festival taking place from Jan. 18th– March 3rd at the historic Distillery District. Visitors will be taken on a visual journey and the festival will light up the winter night – just be sure to grab a hot chocolate to stay warm!

If delicious food is your thing, you can also attend Winterlicious from Jan. 5th  – Feb. 7th to discover cuisine at more than 200 restaurants across the city!

Family Fun on the Ice

Skating and winter go together like peanut butter and jelly!! There are plenty of exciting places to skate in the city like Nathan Phillips Square and the Bentway. For folks in Mississauga, Celebration Square is also a great rink to check out. Or simply checkout your local rink for family skate times. Whether you choose an outdoor destination or your local indoor rink, we guarantee it’s an activity the whole family will love!

Don’t want to venture outdoors? You can still have fun indoors! Make it a family fun day by enjoying warm drinks and board games at a board game cafe. Popular cafes include For The Win and Snakes and Lattes.
