Tandoori chicken has been the default BBQ recipe for so many South Asian families for a VERY long time. (Archeological evidence shows that we’ve been eating some variation of tandoori chicken since at least 3000 BCE!) While tandoori purists may not consider the BBQed version of the dish true tandoori chicken because it’s not cooked in the clay tandoor oven that gave the dish its name, we think it’s a recipe that’s synonymous with summer grilling! And so many other families seem to agree, because a quick Google search for “tandoori chicken BBQ” comes back with almost 2.5 million results!
